Day 1
ARRIVE TIMIKA – ASMAT/AGATS
Arrive by early morning flight from Jakarta at 06.05am, meet the guide in the airport and waiting for the connecting flight to Asmat/EWER at 10.40am, you will arrive in Ewer airport around midday then by boat 20 minutes to Agats where you will stay overnight in a simple Mutiara hotel or similar. Lunch and dinner in a local restaurant in Agats ( typical Indonesia foods stalls ).

Flights schedule : Timika – Ewer/Asmat – Timika : 4 days a week : Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday only

DAY 2
AGATS – VISIT MUSEUM AND SYURU VILLAGE
To day you will visit the Asmat Museum in Agats to get a closer look and appreciation of Asmat Culture and its development specifically the famous Asmat wood carvings which have been world famous since the 80s.Afternoon, Still by foot you may continue to visit Syuru village at the end of the small narrow road in Agats and see up close the life of Asmat people, whose daily lives are gatherers and fishermen in the river and in the sea.
Note :
Asmat land is a muddy and swampy area in the lowlands of the southern coast of Papua. Asmat villages are located on the coast and riverbanks and can only be visited by rowing a canoe or using a boat. While the forest is almost impenetrable by visitors, only local hunters can sometimes able to walk through this dense swampy forest.
DAY 3
AGATS – SAWA ERMA
Today we depart to Asmat villages by chartered a boat, we visit the villages in Sawa Erma district in the north west of Agats. Depends on whether and distance we will arrive in the village before midday and stay overnight in Asmat Men House or Jew under permission of the local chief and we stay with local in the village where we have chance to explore and interact with them during this two days/two nights visit before we continue to the next Asmat villages in another different area/district.
Note :
Foods will be prepared by our local cook, consisting of rice, noodles, green vegetables and canned meat to taste.
Drink water is mineral water in bottles
Sleeping in the men House or Jew : we will provide a plastic mats laying on the floor with a mattress and a mosquito net.
Day 4
SAWA ERMA : Explore Asmat Daily lives
Stay and explore the Asmat daily lives in the village , the guide will talk and discuss with the local people how we can see or even participate in their daily routine and you are able to interact with local people in the village for your better experience of Asmat lives and culture.
Day 5
SAWA ERMA – AMBOREB
From Sawa Erma district we continue our trip in Asmat territory to the next Jetsy District and stay another two days two nights in the village of Amboreb ( 3 to 4 hours by boat ). Stay overnight in Men’s House or Jew
Day 6
AMBOREB : Explore more of the Asmat Daily lives and Culture
Stay in the village or walk into the nearby walkable forest to see more of the Asmat daily lives, and in the evening you may sitting down with some men’s drumming in the center fire place in the Jew and hearing the mystical rhythm of Asmat Songs and drums.
Day 7
AMBOREB – SUATOR/ PEPERA
From Amboreb, the trip continue up river to Korowai territory. We still by pass four more Asmat villages at the river’s bank of Sirestj, we may make a quick stop and briefly visit the village and its Jew but we will arrive in Suator or Pepera village in the afternoon just before it get dark. We overnight in one of the local people house.
Day 8
PEPERA – MABUL
Today we continue travel by boat up river to reach the Korowai territory . The river is getting smaller and narrow, the boat will moves up slower as the rivers getting shallow in some parts but we will arrive in Mabul village by midday and overnight in local people house in the village while the guide will prepare and choose the porters who will accompany carry our bags the next day into the forest to visit the Korowai people lives inland.
Day 9
MABUL – KOROWAI TREE HOUSE
From Mabul we walk through the muddy lowland forest ( 4 – 5 hours ) to reach the Korowai Tree house and meet the local people who still want and are happy to maintain their life in the forest and live in the tree houses that they built 8 – 12 m high above ground level. We will sleep in a tent or up in the tree house upon the host invitation if it is possible.
Day 10
KOROWAI TREE HOUSE
Stay and explore the local people daily life
Note : Korowai people are hunter and gatherer who collect foods in the forest nearby.

Day 12
KOROWAI TREE HOUSE – MABUL – SUATOR
From the last Korowai house we visited, we walk back to Mabul village where we get a boat and traveling down river all the way to the coast in Asmat territory again. Today we overnight in local people house in Suator
Day 13
SUATOR – AGATS
Continue travelling down river to Agats ( 5-6 hours ), sleep overnight in Mutiara hotel or similar.
Day 14
AGATS – EWER – TIMIKA
After breakfast in hotel, transfer by speed boat ( 30 minutes ) to Ewer airport of Asmat and fly to Timika by Wings Air. Arrive by noon in Timika, check-in at Cenderawasih 66 hotel. Lunch and dinner in Hotel’s restaurant.
Day 15
TIMIKA – JAKARTA OR DENPASAR/Bali ( DEPARTURE )
Breakfast in hotel, then transfer to airport for your flight to Jakarta.

TRAVEL PERMIT
For travellers to Papua need a travel Permit. After you confirmed the trip with us, please be your kind to send us by email the scan of your copy passport and color photos, included your Visa on Arrival or Stay permit. We need to apply these documents prior to your arrival in Jayapura/Papua.
